2025… The Year My Body Asked Me to Listen
It wasn’t a dramatic year marked by illness or injury. It was actually uncovered during something very ordinary… my annual exam.
During my annual appointment, I asked my doctor about getting a DEXA scan. It’s usually routine for women in their 60s, but with my petite frame, I wanted to be proactive. He agreed. I honestly didn’t think much would come of it.
That’s when osteoporosis entered the conversation.
No symptoms. No warning signs. Just information. And suddenly, a quiet awareness settled in.
What followed wasn’t panic or a rush to “fix” anything. It was a slowing down. A paying attention. A shift in how I related to my body. Less pushing. More listening.
I started looking at movement differently. Strength not as punishment or hustle, but as support. That’s when I began using the Equinox+ app consistently… not chasing intensity, just showing up for strength in a way that felt sustainable, whether I was home or traveling.
Posture became another small but meaningful focus. I noticed how often I collapsed forward without realizing it. Wearing the Forme bra helped me stay gently aware of my alignment throughout the day. Not rigid. Just supported. A reminder to stand a little taller.
I’ll link the Forme bra I wear here, and I do have a coupon code available if you’re looking for one.
And after a lot of reading and conversations with my doctor, I added AlgaeCal capsules into my routine. Nothing dramatic. Just one more way of showing up for my bones with intention.
None of this felt like a big declaration. No overhaul. No fear-based changes. Just small choices that felt respectful.
There was still a quiet grief in realizing that health isn’t something you check off a list. Bodies evolve. They ask different things of us at different seasons.
What I’ve learned is this… listening isn’t weakness. It’s trust.
My body wasn’t failing me. It was asking me to pay attention sooner rather than later.
And I’m glad I did.
Every step we take is a step toward our true selves.
Thanks for walking part of this path with me.
